What is the Customer Experience World Games?

6 teams made up of 130 talented CX practitioners from across the globe who have come together to compete virtually in teams to solve challenges for organisations who are looking to improve experiences for their customers, employees, communities, and society in general and need our help because of the crisis.

Why did we start the games?

When we came up with the idea of the Customer Experience World Games it was just that; an idea we thought we would put into practice at some point in the future. Then Coronavirus happened, and it was a great opportunity to make the games a reality, with the aim of bringing together the Customer Experience community from home while we could not network in person. We wanted to lend our support to organisations struggling because of the crisis and offer our expertise for free.

We put together the initial advert hoping for 30 people to sign up and asked some trusted friends and CX Consultancy Partners to captain teams and judge the entries.

We have been completely overwhelmed by the response!

The First Challenge

In the first challenge we helped a charity whose fundraising experiences have had to stop due to lockdown, but they need the fundraising to go on.

You can watch Jamie McDonald, founder of the Superheroes Foundation and UK Pride of Britain award winner introduce the challenge here:

The Results

The teams rose to the challenge and came up with some awesome ideas.

What do participants say?

Ian Williams, Games Judge and MD of Jericho Consulting said:

“The ingenuity of ideas was amazing and the variety was fantastic – it was difficult to choose between them. I became very emotionally invested in the cause and I really hope that, as a result of the games, the Superhero Foundation can help the family raise the funds they need.”

Jonathan Daniels, founder of CX Brussels and captain of the winning “Ambassadors” team for the first challenge said:

“I am very excited that team Ambassadors won the gold this time around. I thank the team for their innovation and hard work! I was particularly motivated by this first challenge as it was really for a great cause. I’m big on impacting lives and making opportunities, and the Superhero Foundation is a fantastic initiative! We look forward to winning the CX World Games! Go Team Ambassadors!!!!!!”

Kat Hounsell, Independent CX Consultant and one of Team Ambassadors players said:

“The CX games has been an uplifting experience, especially at this strange time we find ourselves in. Working on a real-life challenge for such a worthy cause has given me the opportunity to help others, albeit in a small way. It’s also expanded my network with new connections in the CX space, both in UK and beyond. I’m looking forward to the challenges ahead.”

Everyone taking part is loving it – It’s fun, free, players get to collaborate with those they never normally would and feel they are making a real difference.

If you’d like to take part in the CX World Games, it’s not too late. There will be 5 challenges in total, the next challenge will be issued on 14th May.
